What is supervision?

The basic purpose of supervision is to help your counsellor to provide you with the best possible therapeutic experience. Supervision provides an opportunity for the therapist to reflect on their practice and to get another person's insight into what may be happening. it also provides elements of mentoring, developmental and safeguarding.

The BACP stipulates that all counsellors and psychotherapists are required to have a minimum of one and a half hours of casework supervision every month. Other professional bodies have similar requirements. There is a similar requirement for supervisors to participate in supervisory supervision.

What I can offer

I am a qualified supervisor for counsellors, psychotherapists and similar professions.

I am able to offer one-to-one and group supervision. My fees are £40 per hour (£60 per 90-minute session) for one-to-one supervision, with a 50% reduction for group work. I also offer counselling students, and those new to private practice, where they are funding supervision themselves, a 33% discount on my fees. If you'd like to consider me as a supervisor, please give me a ring or contact me via the web-form so we can discuss your requirements.
